Here's my first attempt at doing a watercolor
sketch instead of colored pencil. Needs brighter bolder colors, I think,
some more punch, but it was great to try.
Super job for your first watercolor! I love his face and great job on the feet, too. I think those water jugs are going to be too much weight on his poor neck, though!
Funny! He should just stay at the lake. You did so well for a first watercolor. Watercolor can be really hard, long time ago I put them aside for a while and tried oil and acrylics instead - much easier :)
Hi Pia -- he should totally just stay at the lake! Why lug all that stuff around? Thank you so much for your comments. I am enjoying looking at your work -- so full of life and nuance. Highlighter is great!
I like the sketchy quality you got with the watercolors! I'm drawn to the shadows at the bottom of the painting; I think it's the contrast that attracts my eye. The camel's shadow really roots him to the ground!
Thank you! I was thinking about the weekend before when it seemed like I had purchased a lot of extra STUFF and was feeling a little weighed down with it :)

ReplyDeleteThanks Cindy! It DOES look pretty heavy, doesn't it?? I love the vibrancy in your work.
